I’ve updated the program in order to patch the 23.1.3.15 version of Quicken 2014 . However, since this version is new and may still be is not maintained anymore, applying the patch can have shouldn’t have undesired effects on the future updates of Quicken 2014. Before updating, it is best to remove the patch (still using the same program, or renaming the backup file).
The patcher has been tested on Quicken Home & Business 2014, but it should work with other editions provided they use the same version of the qwmain.dll file.
If you want to apply the patch, follow the instructions from the main page, here. You will find below the different versions of the Patcher, in the order they were published. When in doubt, get the latest version: it should be able to patch previous versions also (there is a check before patching and the program will only proceed if it find the exact same version).

Unfortunately it doesn’t work on Quicken 2013 🙁
No, it’s designed to work only with the 21.1.7.18 version of Quicken 2012, otherwise it would trash the file to patch.
Do you have the same problem with Quicken 2013 ? I can’t remember such a behaviour when I tested it.
I found the time to look at the 2013 version. It seems to be the same trick.
The program is updated and should support the current version of Quicken H&B 2013. But as mentionned above, the patch should not be used together with the future updates (remove it first).
Could you please modify your patch for version quicken 2014 please?
Unfortunately, I don’t own the 2014 version…
So what if I’ll send to you qwmain.dll file from 2014
No… I need the whole software to be running, not just the .dll
If you have ***** ** ****** ***** ******* I can do that
I’d rather not talk about that on a public page.
How can I contact you in private?

Please update patch for Release R 4.23.1.4.3
Thank you!
I’m not able to get the Release 4. One step update keeps crashing on my test computer. I have to wait for the “manual install” update to be released.

Happy New Year!
New version of the patcher released !
Trying to patch 2014 H&B with R5 and the the 1.4 patch and get the following error:
The process cannot access the file … because it is being used by another process.
Any ideas? Cheers.
Hi, please ignore my earlier message, I hadn’t run the patch as administrator (Window 8.1). Sorry! Many thanks.
Glad you solved it!
I also got this error as an admin because Quicken wasn’t completely closed (sometimes it takes a while because of the autosave in background).
Hi livevil,
Thank you for providing the patch! I just upgraded my quicken from v2011 to v2014 and realized the unicode problem. I use chinese in many of my financial records (without a problem in v2011) and found them scrambled when I changed the language setting to US English for v2014. Do you think your patch can fix this problem?
Any comment would be very much appreciated, thanks a lot.
The patch only removes the pop-up message when the program is started (it disables the trigger which calls the message box). It doesn’t change anything elsewhere in the code.
So if the display of your text is scrambled, there is unfortunately no reason why the patch would change it.
i see. that’s too bad, but thanks for answering anyway.
Please update patch for Release R 6
Thanks in advance.
I’ll do that as soon as possible but I’m quite busy these days…
Patcher for the Release R6 … released !
Thank you very much
Could you update your patch for the new release please?
Thanks
Patcher for the Release R7… released !
Thanks a lot
Is there a patch to store and display unicode characters in quicken?
No, I don’t think it can be done with a patch.
Hello
i (by mistake) upgrade to 23.1.8.8 and the problem show up again
i really don’t understand why they insist not to solved this issue once and for all
thanks for your help
yaron
I don’t know if I still have a test machine with Quicken 2014 installed. I’ll will try to have a look at that, but I can’t promise when.
I’ve added a new version of the patcher (2.1) for this 2014 version.
Hope this helps!
There is a new version which removes the message for the new 23.1.8.8 (Quicken H&B 2014).
thanks you very much for 23.1.8.8
