Quicken 2017

I’ve updated the program in order to patch the 26.1.1.5 version of Quicken 2017. This is the first release (R1). I wil try to do the last update later, but I’m encounting some troubles with this version.

This version is still maintained, and applying the patch can have undesired effects on the future updates of Quicken 2017. Before updating, it is best to remove the patch (still using the same program, or renaming the backup file). There is a (big) risk that the qwmain.dll will be updated in the future. In this case, this program won’t be able to patch the new file…

The patcher has been tested on Quicken Deluxe 2017 and Quicken Home & Business 2017, but it should work with other editions provided they use the same version of the qwmain.dll file.

If you want to apply the patch, follow the instructions from the main page, here. You will find below the different versions of the Patcher, in the order they were published. When in doubt, get the latest version: it should be able to patch previous versions also (there is a check before patching and the program will only proceed if it find the exact same version).

Since I couldn’t obtain the intermediate releases, I’ve updated the patcher for the latest R12 version.

As said above, I plan to do it but I can’t right now. Not enough time these days. Sorry folks …

My mistake… I didn’t realize you were talking about the 2017 version. I don’t have this version for now, and without it I can’t do anything (it would be too much work to try to patch it without “live” debugging).
Plus, once I get the new version, I need to install a new virtual machine since Q2016 and Q2017 do not like to each other 🙂 !
I’m not saying this cannot be done, but …

I’ve just release a new version of the patcher for Quicken Deluxe 2017 R1 and the latest R12 !
No releases planned for the intermediate versions as I couldn’t get them…

If you friendly with any HEX editor you can make patch by youself. You have to match in qwmain.dll by regulr expression \x78.{8}\x78.{17}\x78 and replace it on \xEB.{8}\xEB.{17}\xEB. Or find for t????????t?????????????????t. Offset of this expression from 1855319 (for 2013 version) to 2114919 and futher (for 2017 version). Do it on your own risk.

    Offset for Q2017 26.1.17.4 R17.4:
    2154000
    2154009
    2154027
Just open winhex and change “74” to “EB” on these positions in qwmain.dll.
